November Sounds

Since November has started I've been listening to the same playlist over and over again. Not all of these songs are exactly new, but they are great for the cold and rainy fall weather. In summer I've been enjoying more club and party songs like Animals by Martin Garrix, La Bomba by King Africa and some polish disco polo. But as soon as the weather got worse I changed to calmer, more indie sounds, like Ed Sheeran or Adele. None of them made it to my playlist this week/month, but here are my top 5 songs:

One Direction - Story of my Life
As you may or may not know, I'm a big fan of One Direction, but lately I haven't been paying much attention to them. When I heard this song the first time I wasn't sure if I like it or not, but I decided to download it anyway and every time I listened to it I liked it more and more. Now, after pressing repeat hundreds of times I'm truly obsessed with Story of my Life and it has become my favourite song for fall 2013.

Lana Del Rey - National Anthem
Right now, Lana is my favourite singer. All of her songs are just perfection and I also adore the sad, melancholic and vintage atmosphere in her music videos. After listening to her album Born To Die a couple of times I finally chose my favourite song - National Anthem. Not only the melody is pleasant to listen to, but I can also kind of relate to the lyrics. "Money is the anthem of success, so put on mascara and your party dress..."
Another favourite of mine is Off To The Races , make sure to check it out too!

Christina Perri - A Thousand Years
I remember listening to this song a few months ago, when it first came out. Then I totally forgot about it until my friend reminded me about it last week. I was surprised not to find it in my music library, so I immediately headed over to iTunes and bought it. I like to listen to it not only while falling asleep, but also when walking to uni. And - I have to stop myself from singing it out loud in public.

Miley Cyrus - Wrecking Ball
I think everybody knows this song by now. Some love it, some loathe it (or rather the music video...). I definitely belong to the first group. It is very emotional and beautiful. I also don't get the hype (the bad kind of it) about the music video. I get, that Miley has been acting really weird lately, but it's not like nobody has done things like it before. I was actually really touched while watching it and I may (or may not) have shed a tear or two. You can see that Miley has lost the love of her life and it's more than just her naked on a huge wrecking ball.

Walk the Moon - Iscariot
I first heard (and saw) Walk the Moon when they supported Fun. on their concert in Munich and re-discovered them about a month ago. Their album is really great and fun to listen to. The majority of their songs is rather fast and I enjoy dancing (or rather jumping around my room) to them, but Iscariot is slow and powerful (?). The band from Ohio definitely deserves more attention than it gets, because their songs are catchy and everyone can find something for themselves from it's repertoire.

Well, that has been a bit of a rambling. I'm quite sure there are a few mistakes in the text but the later it gets the worse my english becomes and it's almost 11p.m. now and I'm not exactly rested and full of energy so sorry in advance for my not so good writing skills. As I don't have uni on fridays the weekend has officially begun for me and I can't wait for the Warsaw trip I have planned and also a party I'm going to.
I'm going to end this post here, because I don't want to embarrass myself any further. So goodnight everybody, I hope you like at leat one of my favourite songs!
