Jade Butterfield from Endless Love Inspired

A couple of weeks ago I saw the movie "Endless Love", starring Gabriella Wilde and Alex Pettyfer, and I loved it. The story was not very original, but the single scenes were just prefect. What I really liked as well were the cute, girly outfits the main character, Jade Butterfield, was sporting. She wore mainly white and cream, with only a few exceptions. I tried to recreate some of her looks, but it doesn't really work in winter. So I thought, why not to plan some cute summer outfits? Here are some similars to Jade's outfits as well as some inspired ones:

This simple outfit is perfect if you want to stay at home or just go on a casual, yet romantic date. You could pair this with cute sandals for a girly look or just some sneakers for a more causal vibe.

In the movie, Jade wears this outfit to a outdoor concert, but it's also perfect for a bonefire, nightwalk or just a day out in colder weather.

This is a way more elegant look, suitable for a party or dinner with your family. I love how Jade matches her dress with her red, yet natural-looking lips.

I think white is the perfect color for summer and it looks really nice on tanned skin. Don't be afraind to go white on white, it's perfectly acceptable and a great alternative to black on black. How to: Tartan

Tartan is one of the biggest trends this season. You may not know, but there is a difference between tartan and plaid. What is it? I didn't really know, so I did some research. And... I'm still not quite sure... But I THINK that the essential thing that tartan is just one kind of plaid - plaid can be any checked pattern, but tartan is the traditional scottish kind. And also - plaid is some specific kind of clothing while tartan is the actual pattern. I might be wrong though. For a more detailed explanation check out this.

Anyway, I'm not writing this to give you the definition of tartan but ideas and tips on how to style it. Let's get into it:

If you are not so confident with tartan yet try wearing just one patterned piece, keeping the rest of the outfit simple. Pairing a dark colored mini skirt with a plain grey tee and some converse makes a perfect outfit for lunch with friends or shopping. Don't forget the money though ;). Exchange the converse for some black, heeled booties or simple black heels to make this outfit dinner-appropriate.

This is a more elegant take on the trend. There is a lot going on with this pixeled tartan dress so I'd keep the rest to the minimum, Some black strappy heels, simple rings and clucth make this ensemble perfect for a dinner, date or reception.

You can also rock the tartan trend at school or even at home with this comfortable, casual outfit.

Leave your boring black or grey suit in your closet, it's time for tartan! I admit, tartan or tartan is the next level and not everyone can pull it off, but it's worth a try.  This silhouette is a blogger favourite and perfect for work.
